"During the 2008 field season I oversaw a series of Alaskan exploration projects on which Altar Drilling was the drilling contractor. These projects were in a remote area of Alaska with Helicopter support to drill sites, and, as is often the case in Alaska, we had more than our share of weather and logistics problems.
I found Altar's performance on this contract to be excellent and then some. Their crews were always ready to go the extra step to sort out issues on the drill and even with other aspects of the project. The drillers were smart guys, good mechanics, very experienced, and had an excellent work ethic. they were pleasant guys to have around camp and worked extremely well with the rest of the crew. They were among the best I have ever worked with.
I recommend Altar Drilling without any reservation whatsoever. If any party would want to further discuss my experience working with them, I would welcome an email or call at any of the contact means listed above. "

To Whom it may concern:
I am very pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Altar Drilling, Inc. and in particular for Dan Lajack, who owns and operates the company.
Prior to our contract with Altar, we had contracted with a large, well-known drilling company for core drilling at our Corner Creek project. After spending $183,000 and 75 days on the job, with numerous breakdowns, statements that the ground was too dificult to drill, stuck and lost drill pipes, burned off drill bits, equipment that was old and not working properly, and a driller's helper that was severely injured, they recovered only 1100 feet of core. Our experience with this company was a disaster.
In October of 2008 we contracted with Altar Drilling to drill 1300 feet of core at the same Corner Creek project. Dan Lajack was informed that the ground was broken and difficult to drill. He took the job on the understanding that if the drilling was too difficult, he would know it within the first few days and would pull off the job. Dan not only did not have to pull of the job, he informed me that although the rock was very fractured, the drilling was not that bad.
Dan drilled for a total of 14 days (day shift only), which included five days training and working with a new helper, and produced a total of 1300 feet of core. His core recovery was outstanding, even in clays and broken ground where the previous contractor had lost core. Our total cost was much less than half what we had paid to the first drilling contractor.
Dan is a man of his word, and he and his crew did an outstanding job for us. I will not contract with another company to do any future drilling on our project, even if it means putting the project on hold until Altar is available.
I encourage and will be pleased to accept any telephone calls regarding Altar Drilling, Dan Lajack, and the job they did for us.
Sincerely,
Steve Ewell
